What to expect as a new patient
Though the initial consultation you will have a case history built up, aiding in the assessment of your problem or needs. On approval the therapy will commence being suitable for you and your condition. Rehabilitation massage tends to be deep, specific and intense, working on the particular soft tissue problem area (s).
Treatment: does it hurt?
To benefit from massage, some techniques can cause slight pain, which is inevitable and cannot be avoided. You will be warned beforehand and an explanation will be provided as to why some discomfort or pain may be caused.
Manipulation is very specific directed at individual areas in order to reduce pain and improve mobility in one area without upsetting another.

I-Ice
The application of ice immediately following soft tissue injury will encourage the vessels to reduce in size so reducing the amount of blood waste products going to the injured area. Reduces swelling
Ice must not be put directly onto skin, 10-15mins every 2 hours for the first 24/48 hours.
C- Compression
Helps minimise the volume of blood to an area and reduces the amount of swelling.
Can be used before and after applying ice
E-Elevation

During the first 48 hours the following treatment should be avoided:
A medical opinion should be sought with 24/48 hours if there is continues pain.
